How it all began
In February 2021, amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself seeking a new purpose to channel my energy. As someone who thrives on staying active, I turned to my deep love for the wilderness and the vast blue ocean for inspiration.
This passion gave rise to the idea of creating a resort wear brand one that would reflect the natural beauty and spirit of those elements. Excited by the concept, I shared my vision with my daughter, who encouraged me wholeheartedly, saying, “Great, Mum! It’ll keep you occupied.”
The journey began with beach wraps as my initial creations and gradually expanded to include clothing for both women and men. Though the path was filled with challenges and learning curves, every obstacle became a valuable step toward shaping what Zeal by Roche is today.
Naming the brand proved challenging. Though I often felt like giving up, I knew that “Roche” had to be part of its identity. After much reflection, Zeal by Roche was born a name that embodies passion, determination, and unwavering commitment.
A significant milestone was our first fashion shoot, where I instinctively chose my daughter to be the face of Zeal by Roche. Her presence added profound meaning and pride to our journey.

Kanthi
A 55 year old seamstress, adding the final touch to each item with precision by packing the garments appropriately. Travelling from Piliyandala, she expresses her satisfaction working for ZealRoche as she enjoys doing what she is specialized in, besides having the fortune to provide a better life for her family.
Hemanthi
Deeply engrossed in her work to achieve precision. She is one of many who are excited for the opportunity to work at Zeal. We at Zeal are happy to have included her in the team
Dilini
A young mother of two children and is entrusted with all ZealRoche creations and embellishments. The only free time available is when her daughter is away at school and her toddler is asleep, but she dedicates that time to create some elegant fashion pieces which she is proud of . Besides being grateful for the opportunity, she admits that with her income from ZealRoche, she can provide her children with a good education and better living.
Nilanthi
A 51 year old single mother is a resident of Ratmalana. She lost her livelihood when the apparel manufacturing Company decided to “put up shutters” in the factory she was employed. For the past ten months, she has been a part of the ZealRoche Team and besides the Financial stability, she is happy and confident to put her skilled hands into good use.
Sumedha
A talented young lad, with an eye for every minute detail is responsible for maintaining high quality prints and standards for the fashion conscious customer. He is very sincere in expressing his passion for the job and confirms the Zeal creations are Unique.
Sanka
The flamboyant Supervisor with the “Cutting Station” under his wings, balances demanding situations and guarantees high quality products simultaneously. He performs his duties with a smile, subconsciously lifting the teams spirits
Karuna
Her name signifies compassion in Buddhism and she is true to her name. She specialises in pattern making. She admits her satisfaction to be part of ZealRoche product creations as this allows her to be in constant touch with textiles of vibrant colours and designs
Jothi
One of the team members in charge of cutting fabric for ZealRoche. A very pleasant individual who hails from the Eastern province but is now domiciled in Nugegoda
Thushari
A talented young girl from Horana. With her experience in pressing she plays a pivotal role in ZealRoche creations and is an Integral part of the team.

Among our team is Dumindu Kavishka, who plays the role as Brand Executive & Graphic Designer, ensuring that Zeal’s visual identity, digital presence, and brand consistency are brought to life with elegance and intention. From shaping campaign aesthetics to refining every visual detail, Kavishka works closely with our broader creative and production team to uphold the brand’s distinctive voice.
